Main issues: “If elected, I would like to address accountability within the school board. Providing our principals, teachers and staff with all the resources they need to educate our students is paramount to the success of the Birmingham City School System. We must improve the communication between the community and the school system. Parents don’t know what’s going on with the school system. We must open the lines of communication to keep parents informed. Education has been politicized in this city for too long; the constant carousel of superintendents has kept this school system from progressing and in turn overshadowed the needs of our students. Our school system has a lot to build on and with the right leadership in place you will see the school system will compete with top-rated systems across the country.”
