Main issues: Continue assessment of all people who die of sudden, unexpected or violent deaths by someone who has trained in forensics and medicine; continue educational efforts concerning suicide, illicit drugs, tobacco and alcohol; provide lifesaving campaigns such as Stop the Bleed; investigate deaths using current scientific literature, techniques and testing to reduce wait times for families; become more involved in local research in disease surveillance, motor vehicle injuries and other public health applications; become the first coroner’s office in Alabama to achieve National Accreditation; continue to serve families with compassion, empathy, integrity and professionalism; continue to set the example for all of Alabama’s coroner offices.
