However, Gun Court would focus on educating individuals about gun safety in addition to (assessing) participants for other services. … These services would include education (GED), job readiness skills and placement, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and mental health treatments. I would also like to contract with the Project Renew Program to help individuals obtain a driver’s license. This program focuses on identifying and resolving cases that are hindering people from obtaining their driver’s license and it aids in driver’s license test preparation. I would also offer community service options as an alternative to some court costs and fees.”
