Ainsworth Leads in Fundraising by a Wide Margin Over Boyd in Lt Gov Race

Republican Will Ainsworth collected $141,900 in September for his campaign for lieutenant governor, far outdistancing the $11,885 raised by Democrat Will Boyd, according to reports filed this week with the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office.

Ainsworth, a state representative from Marshall County, has reported receipts of $853,465 since the campaign began last year. The candidate and members of his family have loaned more than $1.1 million to the campaign, which included the Republican primary in June and runoff in July.

Boyd, presiding bishop of Zion Ministries and pastor of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Florence, has raised $42,843 overall.

Ainsworth reported a cash balance of $208,007 as the campaign heads into its final month. Boyd reported cash on hand of $8,739.

Following is a list of contributors of $5,000 and up to the two candidates.
