Main issues: Ammons said the commission needs to work diligently on economic development and infrastructure throughout the county. This can be done, he said, by cultivating business leaders and elected officials to work toward common goals to create a better quality of life for the citizens of Jefferson County. The county can work smarter, he added, by creating more multi-jurisdictional agreements that will improve cooperation and save taxpayer money. He said he will work to support the sheriff’s initiatives, including the Metro Area Crime Unit that works to share information and solve crimes quicker.  His experience of bringing people to the table will be a huge asset, he said.
