Alabama added 964 cases of COVID-19 but no new deaths in the Alabama Department of Public Health’s daily update Sunday.

There have been 172,626 cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began in March. That includes 151,527 confirmed cases and 21,099 listed as probable.

Jefferson County led the state with 106 new cases, with Tuscaloosa County reporting 104.

The Health Department’s COVID Dashboard lists 2,788 deaths in Alabama, including 2,620 confirmed as having resulted from COVID-19 and 168 shown as probable.

There was a small drop in the number of people hospitalized for treatment of the virus on Saturday. After reaching as high as 862 earlier in the week, the count was 823 at the week’s end.
