2026 Special Congressional Primary Voter Guide

Alabama’s special congressional primary election is set for Aug. 11. Four districts affected by redistricting will be on the ballot, two of them in the Birmingham area — Districts 6 and 7. Winners of the Republicans and Democratic races will face each other in the November general election.

What you need to know to vote

• Monday, July 27, was the last day to register to vote in the special primaries.
• Tuesday, Aug. 3, is the last day to apply to vote by absentee ballot.
• The general election will take place on Nov. 3.
