Professional experience: Worked as a K-12 educator for 25 years and as an adjunct instructor at Bevill State Community College for more than 10 years.
Civic experience: President of the Marion County Board of Education, where she has served for 15 years.
Main issues: In response to a 2019 Ballotpedia survey, McRae wrote that her goals include ensuring that children have access to a “quality education in a safe environment” and giving students employable skills by educating them in “career tech fields.” She also wrote that “state standards must match testing” and that Alabama should determine why individual schools underperform so that it can take corrective action.
