Blount County COVID-19 Test Site Set Up for Wednesday

A one-day drive through COVID-19 testing clinic will be in operation Wednesday (April 22) in Blount County, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health.

The clinic will be set up in Oneonta at 28117 Alabama 75 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., or while supplies last.

Persons to be tested must be age 10 or older and meet the following criteria:

  • Have a cough or fever or shortness of breath.
  • Be immunocompromised or have two chronic diseases or conditions
  • Be age 65 or older
  • Be a healthcare worker
  • Be associated with a long-term health care facility or
  • Have symptoms that are moderate, severe or worsening.

The Health Department does not recommend testing if a person has none of the symptoms. If a person has mild symptoms and does not fall into a high-risk groups, it is recommended that he or she self-isolate at home and call 1-888-264-2256 if symptoms worsen.
