Political experience:  Elected to Alabama Senate, 2010, and served one term; Distinguished Fellow, Alabama Policy Institute; member, The Federalist Society; has been legal counsel to the Alabama Republican Party and two Republican governors.

Professional experience:  Co-founding partner of the law firm Bachus, Brom & Taylor, with concentration on Constitutional law and appeals, election law, business litigation and public policy. Served in the U.S. Army and National Guard, retired judge advocate and Iraqi veteran. American Bar Association’s Outstanding Young Military Lawyer Award, 2004, Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rated attorney; member, Alabama Law Institute.

Civic experience: Eagle Scout; Rotarian; Alumni Fellow, The Blackburn Institute at the University of Alabama; former executive board member, Tukabatchee Area Council of Scouting USA.

Education: Juris doctorate, University of Texas Law School, 2001; bachelor’s, the University of Alabama,1998.

Main issues:  Establish Veterans Treatment Courts in all 67 counties; bring in more effective training for judges, reduce the cost of litigation, promote more trustworthy outcomes in the courts, ensure every tax dollar is spent wisely, conservative rulings with no judicial activism.

On his website he points to his work as a lawyer to “defend religious liberty and protect conservative voices from being cancelled on woke college campuses.” He also said that as a senator he supported bills to streamline the executive branch of state government and cut spending, and he sponsored the bill that repealed a legislator pay raise.
