Main issues:  McClure said, “Utility rates are set in secret by commissioners whose campaigns are funded by the utility monopolies. I will not take any corporate donations. I will not be beholden to anyone except for the PEOPLE of Alabama!

Alabamians pay the 2nd highest electric bills in the nation despite being the 6th poorest state. I will work to lower the rates and bring transparency to the PSC by holding yearly PUBLIC rate cases. Our current commission has not held a public rate case hearing since 1982. Most states hold these hearings every 3-5 years.

Alabama would benefit from welcoming alternative energy industries to our state. Not only would consumers be able to choose healthier, more environmentally friendly energy sources, but these industries would bring jobs and benefit our state’s economy.”
