Civic experience: Founded and maintains scholarship fund; NCAA soccer referee.

Main issues: Supports efforts to ensure workers are paid a living wage, with a minimum wage of $15 an hour; revive moral traditions of fairness, truth and compassion; opportunities and care for veterans and the poor; criminal justice reform and reducing rates of recidivism; free education from pre-K through college. In answer to a question from BW about major areas of federal spending in Alabama, Nana’s campaign issue this statement:  “Nana for Senate campaign believes healthcare is a right and not a privilege. …We therefore, strongly support an increase in federal money coming to Alabama for Medicare & Medicaid. With regards to military spending, we do not believe that we should continue to increase our military spending especially as it is done at the expense of other programs. Currently, we spend more on the military than the next seven countries with top military spending put together. …”
