COVID-19 Cases in Alabama at 3,611, 95 Deaths

The number of cases in Alabama from the novel coronavirus rose to 3,611 Monday, with 95 reported deaths, 61 of those confirmed through follow-up tests, according to the state Department of Public Health.

Since March 13, 457 people have been hospitalized with the disease. Statewide, 20,605 people have been tested for the coronavirus.

Every county now has confirmed cases.

Jefferson County has the most cases, rising to 597 on M0nday. Fifteen deaths have been reported in the county, eight of those confirmed with follow-up tests by the health department.

Mobile has the highest number of reported deaths in the state with 16, nine of those confirmed by the health department. It has a total of 454 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Chambers and Lee counties in east-central Alabama follows with eight deaths each. Lee County had 239 confirmed cases, with Chambers County reporting 202.

Other counties with more than 100 confirmed cases are: Shelby, 219l Madison, 187; Montgomery, 120; Tuscaloosa, 120; and Tallapoosa, 100.
