DC Joins States Ordering Travelers From Alabama to Quarantine.
Washington, D.C., has joined the states banning Alabamians from visiting unless they quarantine themselves for two weeks.
The mayor’s office released a list of 27 states that are under the new policy.
Alabama is one of the states seeing a rapid increase in the rate of new COVID-19 cases. The district’s list of high-risk states includes those where the seven-day moving average of daily new COVID-19 cases is 10 or more per 100,000 persons. Alabama is reporting a positivity rate of more than 16.
Other states also have banned travel from Alabama without a quarantine, including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Kentucky, Ohio and the city of Chicago.
