Edward Maddox

Political experience: Maddox held the Board of Education District 4 seat, winning a term in 2009. He was named president of the board in 2011. Maddox was forced to step down from that post as part of a plea agreement involving charges that he used his office and his position in the Woodlawn Neighborhood Association for personal gain. He pleaded guilty and was given two years of probation. Maddox unsuccessfully ran for Birmingham City Council in 2005 and 2013.
