Professional experience: Freelance paralegal, senior pastor at Destiny Cathedral Harvest Church, and
Political experience: President of the Ensley Highlands Neighborhood Association. Ran unsuccessfully for mayor of Tarrant, 2008; ran for Birmingham Board of Education, 2009, dropped out of race; ran for BOE in 2010, dropped out of race; ran for BOE 2013; ran four Alabama House of Representatives District 55, 2023.
Education: Received his high school diploma through Birmingham City Schools’ Dropout Recovery Program in 2017, after dropping out of Wenonah High. Associate’s and bachelor’s, 2023 and 2024 from Columbia Southern University, and both in business administration.
Main Issues: Womack hopes to enhance progress of Birmingham City Schools, including by seeing what other school systems are doing and holding the superintendent accountable. Other issues include responsible stewardship of taxpayers’ dollars, students’ mental health, keeping stakeholders engaged and making sure parents have access to the resources they need.
