Residence: Hoover

Political experience: Running for reelection to the Alabama House of Representatives, District 47. First elected to the House in 2022, he previously was elected to the Hoover City Council in 2016 and reelected in 2020.

Professional experience: Built a career in technology and cybersecurity before serving in public office, including as chief technology officer of Mutual Savings Credit Union; certified information systems security professional; started the Hoover Technology Round Table; has served on the Tech Birmingham board of directors and the Birmingham Infragard board of directors. He has released four albums of original songs and won awards such as the Billboard Songwriting Contest, International Songwriting Competition and KCCM song of the year.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in public administration, Auburn University, 1995; graduated from Vestavia Hills High School, 1990.

Civic experience: Has been active in the music ministry at Shades Mountain Baptist Church and served on the Hoover City Schools RC3 Technology Advisory Committee; co-founder of Destination Hoover International, a nonprofit that fosters cultural outreach and international exchange.

Main issues: Lowering everyday expenses, including having supported legislation to remove the rest of the state sales tax from groceries; public safety and support for law enforcement, including proposing the law to increase penalties for false reports; improve schools statewide while protecting his successful local schools; and assure cybersecurity of the state and residents while taking advantage of emerging technologies.
