Professional experience: Was self-employed in the broadcast industry after spending more than 30 years in managerial positions in the banking and telecommunications industries.

Civic experience: Member, Bessemer Area Chamber of Commerce; member, Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Brighton.

Education: Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama.
