Political experience: Appointed assistant tax collector for the Bessemer Division of Jefferson County in September 2023; served four terms in the Alabama House of Representatives,1986-2002; eight years on the state Ways and Means Committee; former chairman of the Jefferson County Republican Party; member of the Alabama Republican Party’s executive committee since 1986.

Professional experience:  Special projects director at The American Village in Montevallo for 14 years; BellSouth Corp., 1986-2006.

Civic experience: Serves on the Alabama Historic Ironworks Commission that oversees Tannehill and Brierfield Ironworks state parks; has served on Public Foundation Board of Alabama Public Television.
