Angela Dixon, Jefferson County’s chief finance officer, was praised Tuesday during the Jefferson County Commission’s committee meeting for having received a certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association.

Dixon shared the credit for the recognition, which was awarded for the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, 2022.

“I am excited about the finance team and the work that we’ve been able to accomplish in the reporting area,” Dixon said. “We work very closely with our auditors, Mauldin & Jenkins, and other departments within accounting to make sure that we can get this award. We’re excited about this opportunity.”
