Professional Experience: Vocational coordinator, bus coordinator, coordinator of secondary education and coordinator of school building renovation and new construction, Shelby County Schools; guidance counselor and assistant principal, Shelby County Career Technical Educational Center; teacher and bus driver, Thompson High School.

Civic Experience: Past president, Alabaster Civitan Club; member and chairman of deacons at Montevallo First Baptist Church; vice president of the Shelby Emergency Assistance Board; president of the Shelby County Farmers Federation and member of the Shelby County Cattlemen’s Association board; member of the Cahaba, Warrior & Coosa Resource Conservation Council; member of the Law Enforcement Personnel Board.

Main Issues: Bice highlighted his experience on the board.

“Education is very complex. I have dedicated my career to helping keep Shelby County at the top,” he said. “Today we have a great school system that is well known for its progressiveness. The schools are the main reason people move to Shelby County.”

Bice added, “Experience and training in education for board members is very important in keeping our schools on the cutting edge. I would like to continue to be a part of preparing the journey for a changing world for our students.
