Birmingham Board of Education, District 9

The Birmingham Board of Education is a nine-member elected body that works with the superintendent to establish a vision for the school system by adopting goals and policies that address student needs, advance student performance and overall operations of the system. The board also approves operating budgets.

District 9 includes Norwood and Tuggle Elementary schools, Wylam and South Hampton K-8 schools; Wilkerson Middle School and Carver and Jackson-Olin High schools.
