Main issues: Albert is making her second run for the secretary of state’s office. Running a low-key campaign, Albert advocates a simplified absentee ballot process in which requests are honored and no excuse is required to be able to vote absentee. She also wants to provide election notifications by mail to include an absentee ballot. If elected, she pledged to increase state voter turnout to 50 percent or more and end what a campaign sign called “new Jim Crow laws.” She also wants to simplify the process for new business startups.
