Main issues: Johnson said he wants to bring his technological and administrative skills to the secretary of state’s office. Johnson told the Alabama News Network that he believes the electoral system is working well in Alabama and voter fraud is rare, but officials need to remain diligent. Asked about the possibility of moving elections to Saturdays, or creating a holiday for elections to bolster turnout, Johnson said the state’s probate judges should be brought into the discussion because they are involved in getting poll workers and polling sites established for each election cycle, an increasingly difficult task.
