Education: Auburn University; Cumberland School of Law, 1982.

Civic experience: Member, VOCAL (Victims of Crime and Leniency); past board president of the Alabama Center for Law and Civic Education.

Main issues: After his appointment by Gov. Kay Ivey, Anderton said he wanted to continue the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office tradition of integrity and stability.

On his campaign website, Anderton said, “I will continue to prosecute serious crimes to the fullest extent of the law, work to reduce repeat criminal behaviors and always recognize that the needs of the victim go far beyond the courtroom.”
