UPDATE 3/10/21: Check here for additional resources to help you find a vaccine.

Alabama now has a statewide online coronavirus vaccination registration website up and running.

People can visit the site, at alcovidvaccine.gov, to check their eligibility for the vaccine and schedule appointments at their county health departments, if shots are available.

The site also offers a list of drive-thru and walk-in sites the Alabama Department of Public Health is planning and the dates they will be open, along with more information about COVID-19 and the vaccine.

Eligible for the vaccine are those 75 years old or older, frontline health care workers, first responders and people living in congregate settings, including nursing homes and homeless shelters. Beginning Feb. 8, residents 65 and older will qualify to receive the vaccine, as will numerous additional workers in frontline essential services.

Other routes to find a vaccine or schedule a shot include calling the state’s hotline at 855-566-5333 and checking with your personal physician or other health care provider. In Jefferson County, you can register to book a vaccine appointment at the Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency. Click on the green Vaccine Info Registration button. Or call 205-858-2221.
