Red-winged blackbird
Red-winged blackbird, tree-perching in Railroad Park. According to a recent study of the North American bird population, the numbers in the family of new world blackbirds have shown one of the largest declines of the past 50 years. Red-winged blackbirds belong to the new world family, and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology states the red-wing population has declined by 92 million birds. (Source: Tom Gordon)
