The special counsel to the state House Judiciary Committee today released his report in the impeachment investigation of Gov. Robert Bentley.

Special counsel Jack Sharman concludes that Bentley did have an inappropriate relationship with an aide and then used state law enforcement officers in an effort to cover it up.

Copies of that report as well as exhibits, including interviews and subpoena responses, are available to read in full on the Impeachment Investigation of Governor Robert Bentley website. The site also includes information about the House Judiciary Committee and its schedule of hearings.

However, impeachment hearings set to begin next week were postponed after a judge this afternoon granted Bentley’s request for a temporary restraining order to block the impeachment process.
