2018 Elections

Voter Registration Ends Monday

Monday is the deadline to register to vote in the June 5 primaries.

You can register online through the Secretary of State’s website, or in person at the Board of Registrars office in your home county, at public libraries, armed forces recruiting stations and state and local offices when applying for benefits.

You also can verify your registration, polling place and districts in which you vote at the Secretary of State’s site.

If you are infirm or will be out of the county on election day, you can vote by absentee ballot. The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is May 31. You can get an absentee ballot application from the circuit clerk’s office or online. The ballot must be postmarked or returned to the clerk’s office by close of business the day before the election.

In an emergency, you can obtain an absentee ballot from the circuit clerk’s office the day before the election, but they also must be mailed or returned by hand before the office closes that day.
