So, what is causing this pandemic? Coronavirus? COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2?

Same virus, different names. The formal name is SARS-COV2, but COVID-19 can be used, as can coronavirus.

Got that?

The virus was first announced as COVID-19 by the World Health Organization on Feb. 11 with CO standing for corona while the letter V is for virus and 19 represents the year 2019.

World Health was in communication with the International Committee on Taxonomy Viruses regarding the names of the virus and the disease. The international committee announced “severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)” as the name of the new virus.

COVID-19, or coronavirus, is the disease responsible for the virus called SARS-CoV-2, or severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2.
