Political Experience: Elected Jefferson County judge in 2010, reelected in 2016. Currently serves as presiding court judge.

Professional Experience: Was in private practice in civil law; received the Judicial Award of Merit in 2019 from the Alabama State Bar Association; serves on the state’s Court of the Judiciary, which handles disciplinary matters regarding other judges.

Civic Experience: Hosts and volunteers for multiple legal clinics throughout Jefferson County and hosts mock trials for elementary, middle and high school students; member of the UAB Minority Health Advisory Board; graduate of Leadership Birmingham; served on the University of Montevallo’s Foundation Board; served on the Children’s Dance Foundation board; has has served as a volunteer for the Birmingham City Schools after school program; member of Living Stones Church.

Education: Cumberland School of Law, juris doctorate, 1997; University of Montevallo, bachelor’s in political science and Spanish, 1993.
