City of Birmingham

  • Birmingham City Council, Sept. 1, 9:30 a.m. | Agenda
    • Item 1 – The public hearing to amend the floodplain zone overlay to ensure “the City’s floodplain regulations remain consistent with the requirements of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Community Rating System.”
    • Item 5 – This consent item would grant a Consumable Hemp Products Retailer License to Magic City Organics. The city’s Fire and Rescue chief, the city’s director of planning, engineering and permits, the chief health officer and the Council’s Public Safety Committee all recommend approval.
    • Items 30, 31 – These resolve the city to settle two matters for amounts not to exceed $20,000 (Item 30) and $22,500 (Item 31), respectively. These are on consent.
    • Item 32 – Appoints a new resident-at-large member to the city’s Design Review Committee to fill an unexpired term scheduled to expire July 30, 2027. This is on consent.
    • Item 33 – Deems the 2026 Picnic at Railroad Park on Sept. 27, 2026 as serving a public purpose, scheduled “to celebrate Birmingham’s neighborhood and community officers in appreciation of their service to the community.” This is on consent.
