Birmingham Schools Seeks Comments on Superintendent Search
The Birmingham Board of Education wants to know what qualities members of the public would look for in a new superintendent.
The board is preparing to launch a search for a new superintendent after Dr. Lisa Herring resigned to become superintendent of the Atlanta public school system.
“We want everyone, including students, parents, educators, staff and community stakeholders, to have an opportunity to share with us the qualities they want to see in our next permanent leader,” Sandra Brown, District 9 representative and chair of the search committee, said in a statement from the school system. “Our goal is to get feedback as soon as possible, so that we can proceed with a clear focus on the community’s wishes.”
To share your thoughts, complete the survey online. The survey also will be shared with parents via email and social media. The deadline for completion is Wednesday.
