COVID-19 Cases Up by 187, Four More Die
Alabama had 6,213 confirmed cases of COVID-19 early Sunday, 187 cases more than the day before. Deaths in the state also rose by four, to 213.
Another 71 people were hospitalized, bringing the total number of people hospitalized since the pandemic began to 840, according to Alabama Department of Public Health data.
Mobile County has the most confirmed cases and the most deaths. It has 40 reported deaths and 888 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Jefferson County is close behind. It has 828 cases and 33 reported deaths. Lee County follows with 23 reported deaths and 358 cases; and Chambers County had 18 reported deaths and 284 cases.
Other counties with 100 or more confirmed cases are: Shelby, 298, Montgomery, 284; Marshall, 279; Tallapoosa, 267; Madison, 210; Tuscaloosa, 185; Baldwin, 154; and Etowah, 123.
