Political experience: Worked as press secretary for Sen. Richard Shelby from 2004-2007, and chief of staff from 2016-2018.

Professional experience: Worked as an attorney for the law firm Butler Snow, 2014 to 2021; In December 2018, Britt was selected as president and CEO of the Business Council of Alabama, resigned in June 2021 to run for Senate.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Alabama; J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law.

Civic experience: Serves on the Stillman College board of trustees; the Alabama Technology Network advisory board; the Alabama Wildlife Federation board of directors; and the Montgomery-Area Committee of 100

Main issues: Britt said the first issues she would tackle as U.S. senator is protecting election integrity, immigration and the federal government’s “reckless spending.” She said she plans to co-sponsor Sen. Bill Hagerty’s Protect the Electoral College Act and introduce legislation to protect states’ rights to require photo ID to vote. She wants to secure full funding to finish the U.S.-Mexico border wall; and she wants to repeal and replace Obamacare with a plan that protects pre-existing conditions and patient rights. Britt is also a strong pro-life advocate.
