Sixty-seven-foot-high digital messages thanking health care workers were projected on the side of a building on the UAB Hospital campus Wednesday night.

The messages “Thank You Health Care Professionals,” “Heroes Work “Here,” “Thank You” and “Not All Heroes Wear Capes” rotated during the display to honor health care workers for their sacrifices during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The display was by Diversified, a national digital technology provider.

“We have personally seen the emotional toll COVID-19 has taken on these caregivers who must stare the worst of it in the face daily,” David DeGruy, an account executive with Diversified, said in an announcement from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. “They all deserve acknowledgment for being true heroes in this time of crisis. We thought what better way to relay that message than transforming a portion of a 105-foot building into a video screen ‘thank you’ tribute.”

The messages were projected onto the wall of Quarterback Club Tower, at the corner of 19th Street and 6th Avenue South.
