A Record 4,695 COVID-19 Cases Reported in Alabama
A record 4,695 new cases of COVID-19, plus 56 deaths from the disease, were reported Thursday by the Alabama Department of Public Health. The previous record number of new cases for a single day was 4,261 on Dec. 10. There have been 310,335 cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began in March. The cumulative number of deaths rose to 4,254. A total of 29,559 people have been hospitalized in the state throughout the pandemic. There were 2,310 in hospitalis on Wednesday, down slightly from a record 2,351 on Monday. Read more.
