Main issues:In the wake of the epidemic of gun violence, Givan hopes to put forward meaningful gun legislation.

“I’ve addressed many issues since being elected to House from human rights to civil rights and LGBTQ rights, but this year with the current climate of our country, I would like to sponsor legislation for gun control,” she said. “I will continue my support of education and job creation.” Givan wants Alabama residents to be the recipients of any jobs involving state contracts. “I’ve sponsored legislation to that extent. People need to be able to make an honest living, to take care of themselves and to take care of their families,” she said.
