- Item 15 – This ordinance will amend the City’s general code (specifically, Title 2, Chapter 2, Article A) by adding a section to authorize electronic attendance at meetings of the City Council in accordance with the Code of Alabama. The council president submitted the item, which was recommended by the Council’s Committee of the Whole.
- Item 16 – This will allow the mayor to execute an agreement with the Housing Authority of the Birmingham District “to provide a law enforcement task force and Community Safety Partnership related to HABD’s High-Intensity Community Oriented Police Patrol Program” at designated properties for a period of up to two (2) years. HABD will provide $2,368,526.32 to cover personnel costs, expenses, and reimbursements for vehicle maintenance, fuel, and repairs. The City will provide officers, one sergeant and one lieutenant. It was brought before the Council’s Public Safety Committee last week.
